Compact HVC Scrubbers

  • Most Energy efficient and cost effective

  • Compact design for space saving

  • Superior performance on per unit energy and water consumption basis

  • No maintenance requirement

  • Suitable for general services

  • Pressure drop from 2" to 20" water depending on contaminant particle size and removal efficiency requirement

  • Available with adjustable feature for upgrading in performance

  • Available in stainless steel, carbon steel, special alloys, FRP, PVC, and other fabricable materials

  • For qualitative performance vs. pressure drop see Appendix A.

This compact scrubber not only requires less space but is also more energy efficient and cost effective. Its superior performance has been demonstrated and proven in field tests conducted in 1981 on three commercial size units installed at CPC International plant in Stockton, California, by CPC International with test results measured by an independent laboratory. In these tests, AIT Compact HVC scrubbers were compared with two other competitors' scrubbers in an identical service and being operated with same pressure drop and water to gas consumption rate. Results showed that the residual dust loading from the competitors' units were at least 200% higher than that discharging from AIT scrubbers. This means that AIT HVC scrubbers can be operated at much lower pressure drop level than other scrubbers to meet a specific emission limit for regulatory compliance.

HVC scrubber is a hybrid between Venturi scrubber and spray cyclonic scrubber in performance characteristics to allow more flexible operation, wider range of application  and service conditions.
